Pediatric dentistry is one of the nine recognized dental specialties of the American Dental Association (ADA). Pediatric dentists are specialists dedicated to the oral health of children and other patients with special health care needs. After the required four years of dental school, pediatric dentists complete two years of additional specialized training, which includes study in child psychology, growth and development. This training allows them to provide the most up-to-date treatment for children’s dental needs.
